Guntersville Marine has partnered with Alabama Flag & Banner to raise the largest pole in the Guntersville area to commemorate the 250th Birthday of the United States of America.
The flagpole has a complete height of 110′, with 11′ buried below ground level and surrounded by nearly 8 tons of concrete. The base of the pole is 14 inches wide, with a 14-inch finial ball on top. The pole, weighing over 5,000 pounds, will fly a 30′ x 60′ United States nylon flag. The flag, completely made from American thread and fabric, weighs over 50 pounds and was sewn by Alabama Flag & Banner, a local, woman-owned business that has operated for 40 years in Huntsville.
